The Salida Rotary Club is proud to announce the 2010 THIRD ANNUAL Celebrity Golf and Fly-Fishing Weekend, on and along the Arkansas River at Salida, Colorado. The event will be a benefit for the SALIDA ROTARY CHARITABLE FOUNDATION, a 501c-3 charity benefiting youth schollarships, activities and organazations of Chaffee County.

What  Is  the  Event ?

On AUGUST 27th, 28th and 29th, ten Celebrities will attend the Saturday fly-fishing event , another ten celebrities will attend the golf event. These events will occur on Saturday, August  28th, these events will benefit our youth focused foundation.

The event begins Friday evening with a Public Dinner and Auction. At this dinner you will have a chance to meet the Celebrities, enjoy a gourmet dinner, and participate in the
auction to fish with the Celebs, or win the chance to join them for 18 holes of golf.

Silent auctions for golf and fly fishing equipment auctions will also be held, Saturday, the Celebrities will fish all day with a partner who has won an auction to fish with the Celebrity. Four lucky golfers will win the right to play in a Golf Tournament. This Tournament will pay to the top three five-somes, in a Scramble format.

Saturday night will be a private dinner celebration for celebrities, sponsors and donors, and winners of the auctions to fish with a celebrity or golf with a celebrity.

Sunday afternoon two Celebrity Motivational Speakers will put on a Free to the Public youth motivational program.

Where  Will  the  Event  Be  Held ?

The event will be held in the beautiful city of Salida, Colorado, on and along  the Arkansas River. Salida is located a bit over two hours from Denver, and a bit under two hours from Colorado Springs.

Friday, August 27th, Saturday, August 28th, Sunday, August 29th.

Who  Will  Participate ?

Twenty Celebrities from Professional Sports, Business, Politics, and Entertainment have been invited to attend the one-day, two-evening event. Ten of the Celebrities will play golf, ten will fly fish the Arkansas River.

The ten Fly Fishing Celebrities will be teamed with a professional fly-fishing guide, and the lucky winner of an auction that will determine the fishing partner for each Celebrity. Each team will float the Arkansas River, and enjoy a full day of fishing on this famous brown trout water.

Ten Golfing Celebrities will be teamed with high-bid foursomes for the day of golf. This is a tournament that will pay out to top three winning teams of the Scramble Event.

Friday  Evening  Dinner  and  Auctions

Friday evening will be the Pubic Dinner and Auctions. There will also be both a silent and a live Auction of items donated by our Sponsors. Celebrities will also be asked to bring items for the auction from their profession. The Auctions to fish with the Celebrities in the second seat of the boat will also be held.

The  Second-Seat  Fishing  Partner  Auction

An Auction will be held at the public dinner Friday evening for the second-seat in each Celebrity's boat, and for the ten teams of golfers that will each golf with a celebrity.

Saturday  Fishing  and Golfing Events 

Saturday will be a day of fun-filled fishing for the ten boats, ten Celebrities, the winning fishing partners , and their professional fly-fishing guide. And, the day for the Celebrity Golf Tournament. Fishing Teams will enjoy a full day of float fishing on the famous Arkansas River, well known for its fantastic brown trout fishing, and Mother’s Day Caddis hatch, the Arkansas River is one of the best brown trout rivers in Colorado. All boats will depart from their assigned put-in points by 9 AM for a exciting day of fly-fishing.

A shore lunch will be provided. Boats will finish by 5 PM, allowing guests time to relax and clean up prior to the evening events.  Golfers will spend the day at a local golf course playing to win the 18 hole Scramble Tournament.

Saturday  Evening  Private  Celebrity  and  Sponsor  Reception

Saturday evening all Celebrities and Sponsors and team auction winners are invited to a private reception dinner, from 6 PM until 10 PM. This event will be held at the Salida Golf Club.

Celebrity  Transportation  to  Salida  and  Lodging

Lodging will be provided Friday and Saturday nights at local Bed and Breakfasts for all Celebrities and their guests. Transportation to Salida will be the responsibility of the Celebrity. Once our guests arrive in Salida, the Event Committee will provide all transportation, meals and lodging for both Friday and Saturday nights.
